Credit Controller

Pineapple Careers are delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing organisation based on the outskirts of Horsham, who are seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the collection of outstanding invoices across UK and international customers
  • Proactively chase overdue accounts by telephone and email, maintaining strong client relationships while taking a firm but professional approach
  • Post and allocate daily cash receipts BACS, cheques and card payments
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve invoice queries or disputes promptly
  • Set, review and monitor customer limits in line with the company policy
  • Carry out credit checks on new and existing customers using credit reference agencies
  • Prepare weekly and monthly aged debt reports and KPIs for the Head of Accounts and Senior Leadership
  • Attend monthly credit control and age debt meetings with management
  • Manage the legal process for severely overdue accounts, including letters before action, county court claims and enforcement where required
  • Assist with month-end processes, including bad debt provisions and reporting
  • Support the Head of Accounts with ad-hoc projects and contribute to continuous improvement within the credit control function
  • Ensure compliance with the company's credit policy and financial procedures

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in credit control or a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of credit management processes and debtor reporting
  • Attention to detail with a methodical approach
  • Proficient in Accounting Software Packages – Sage
  • Strong numeracy skills and analytical abilities
  • A Microsoft Office whizz, particularly Excel
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Salary & Benefits:

  • £30,000 - £33,000
  • Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 17.00
