Pineapple Careers is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established organisation based in Horsham to recruit a Technical Estimator on a full-time, permanent basis. Are you highly numerical with a strong engineering background and experienced in working from technical drawings and bills of materials? Do you enjoy translating customer briefs into clear specifications and accurate cost estimates? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse customer briefs, drawings and technical information to understand project requirements
- Develop accurate bills of materials (BOMs) based on customer specifications and engineering requirements
- Calculate materials, manufacturing and finishing costs to produce details and competitive estimates
- Ensure all estimates reflect current pricing, manufacturing capabilities and lead times
- Work from technical drawings and engineering documentation to build comprehensive project specifications
- Produce clear, structured written specifications outlining materials, finishes, construction methods and tolerances
- Identify potential technical or cost risks and propose alternative solutions where appropriate
- Liaise closely with production, purchasing and warehouse teams to validate visibility and costs
- Take detailed briefs directly from customers, clarifying requirements where necessary
Key Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven background in engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, structural or similar)
- Experience in estimating bespoke or made-to-order products
- Familiarity with manufacturing process, materials and finishes
- Experience in producing written specifications and cost estimates
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and bills of materials

Salary & Benefits:
- £32,000 - £45,000
- Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 17.30
- 24 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
