Technical Roofing Surveyor

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with roofing or building surveying experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within technical consultancy and surveying.

Perhaps you are currently working as a Commercial Roofing Subcontractor, a Graduate Building Surveyor or within technical support for a roofing manufacturer and you’re ready for a role where your expertise can make a real impact. This position offers a chance to work on a wide variety of projects across the UK, providing expert advice and technical insights on roofing systems. If you enjoy problem-solving, site-based work and producing high-quality technical reports, this could be the perfect next move for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct roof condition surveys on commercial and industrial properties
  • Inspect and assess a range of roofing systems, including single-ply, built-up felt, liquid waterproofing and metal roofing
  • Identify defects, failure mechanisms and remedial requirements
  • Review manufacturer specifications and ensure recommendations comply with the relevant British Standards and UK Building Regulations
  • Provide technical recommendations for roof repairs, refurbishments and replacements
  • Provide clear and accurate technical survey reports, including photographic evidence and condition assessments
  • Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work and remedial recommendations
  • Maintain accurate digital records and ensure all reports are completed within agreed deadlines
  • Liaise professionally with manufacturers, clients, contractors and project teams to provide technical guidance

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems and construction methods
  • Knowledge of roof build-ups, insulation systems, drainage design and condensation control
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Close attention to detail and strong organisational ability
  • Ability to manage multiple surveys and reporting deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office or Google Suite
  • Full UK driving license
  • CSCS Card is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary & Benefits:

  • £30,000 - £48,000 (depending on experience)
  • Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
  • 24 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays and your birthday off!
