Manufacturing and Assembly Engineer

Pineapple Careers are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based on the outskirts of Horsham to recruit a Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer on a full-time permanent basis. This varied role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on assembly of products with process engineering responsibilities, supporting and improving manufacturing operations to ensure production runs smoothly, efficiently and to the highest quality standard. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to production and assembly capacity, taking a lead role in more technical assembly tasks
  • Design, publish and maintain routing instructions for works orders to guide operators on the sequence of the build process, equipment required and records to be maintained
  • Support first-off and new product builds, developing and maintaining standard work procedures using process instructions and Quality Care Points
  • Ensure all processes comply with Health & Safety and Quality requirements
  • Create and publish learning-focused Quality Care Points for technical product builds, including assessment of work areas and tooling prior to assembly
  • Assist in training Operations staff in the safe and correct application of assembly processes, tools and equipment
  • Support label creation and printing tasks using appropriate software and IT systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on in-house production equipment, resolving issues and updating service logs
  • When production work allows, support Operations Inspection activities, including Goods In inspection and customer-specific Goods Out inspections

Key Skills:

Has awareness or certifications in the following:

  • IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 HSD tinning
  • NASA-STD-8739.3 Soldered electrical connections
  • BS-EN-IEC-60352-2 Solderless connections & crimped connections
  • Familiar with the tools, processes and procedures used in electronics manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience in providing suggestions and improvements to manufacturing processes
  • Understand the importance of Health & Safety
