Pineapple Careers are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based on the outskirts of Horsham to recruit a Product Specialist on a full-time permanent basis. This is a varied role, based around technical product management. You’ll be interpreting complex technical data and transforming it into clear, accessible information for both customers and internal teams. While primarily desk-based, you’ll also get hands-on with products to inspect and verify their quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage product files within the MRP system, including the introduction of new products and maintenance of BOM information, following the established process
- Handle associated tasks for customer aliases, specifications and part numbers
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product categories and ranges, ensuring staff have access to relevant information resources
- Support staff with queries related to the technical capabilities of products requested by customers
- Review customer-specific drawings upon receipt of enquiries and assist the sales team in understanding qualified products or manufacturers
- Translate customer requirements through the MRP system to provide clear instructions to the Purchasing team
- Update the MRP system with information on electronic component manufacturers and distributors globally, including non-franchised suppliers
- Assist business operations by identifying commodity codes and updating the MRP system accordingly
- Ensure adequate resources for product inspection, including maintaining a library of catalogues, datasheets and technical drawings
- Receive, verify, log and store technical drawings from both customers and suppliers, ensuring accessibility to all
- Contribute to part number processing for AP numbers
- Lead physical inspection activities and support inspectors and the quality department as required
Key Skills:
- Technical knowledge of electrical components is advantageous
- Background in electrical component manufacturing or distribution is beneficial
- Experience in handling customer queries requiring technical explanations
